Coaching Requirements

USA Hockey and the Coaching Education Program require both certification and registration to be eligible to coach. Registration is done online on a yearly basis. Certification is also required. A few basic steps requirements are as follows:
USA Hockey Requirements (Must be completed before participating in any team activities)
1. Register as a member of USA Hockey.
2. Complete Safe Sport Training.
3. Complete the background screening.
4. Complete the online age-specific module(s) for the age level of play you are coaching.
New – Coaches needing to complete an age-specific module will be required to complete the Foundations of Player Development Prerequisite first.
Coaching Education Program Certificate Clinic Requirements (Must be completed by Dec. 31 each season)
5. Find, register, and attend the required certification clinic.

Once steps 1-4 are confirmed complete with the Westwood Youth Hockey Registrar, you will be able to skate.

Reference the below CEP Progression Guidelines to determine if you need to participate in a clinic this year.
